New elite mare: Liva

The exclusive club of Danish Warmblood's elite mares has gained a new member, Liva by Leandro.

Liva was born at Gørklintgård in 1998, with the pedigree Leandro / Liras. Her dam Lira was also an elite mare, and Liva was a fullsister to Leandi Mandø - also an elite mare - and Liona Mandø who was graded with bronze and celebrated her own breeding victories at Richard Freeman's stud in the US.

The progeny of Liva counts Gørklintgårds Falcon, a succesful sporthorse in advanced dressage, and Gørklintgårds Futurist that in 2006 qualified for the finals for 4-year-old dressage horses - both by Olympic Ferro. Liva is also the dam of the grading winner Le-Ann H and the foal finalist Gørklintgårds Salieri, both by Sunny-Boy.

She was an great mare, both in terms of breeding qualities and temper.

Liva has unfortunately passed away but we still have one of her daughters in our broodmare band. So far Libella (by Sunny-Boy) has delivered two good colts - a 2-year-old by Sarkozy that we still have in our stable and a 1-year-old by Dream Boy that has been sold to the stallion's Dutch owners.
