Three championship contenders on the way to the finals

This week the biggest international equestrian competition on the Danish soil takes place in Odense and one of the highlights is the youngster championship finals. Three Gørklintgård horses have qualified.

In the dressage ring, two 5-year old geldings - Quantico by Quaterback / Carpaccio and Quater Boy by Quaterback / Don Schufro will compete. They were old as foals to the Merrald family and in Odense they will be ridden by the World Cup finalist Nanna Merrald. The young dressage rider has recently been interviewed by Danish equestrian magazine Ridehesten where she shares her plans and preparations prior to the final - read it here (in Danish).

Among the show jumpers, we are represented by our 4-year-old stallion Diarano. He is approved for breeding in Oldenburg.

Info for foreigners: Denmark has two seperate young horse championships. The first one is Danish Equestrian Federation's Championships - for 4-, 5- and 6-year-old horses, respectively - where the competitors must get through two rounds, the first qualifier and then the semifinal, before being invited for the finals in Odense. The second one is Danish Warmblood Society's Young Horse Championship for 5-year-olds where the young horses face one qualifyer before the finals at the stallion licensing in March.
