That also marks a new milestone for her family - Fortuna is the fourth and last of her siblings to be awarded this honour. Her Mother, Grendalin, is also an Elite Mare in Danish Warmblood and unfortunately only delivered six foals, four of them mare and now all Elite Mares.
Fortuna was only three weeks old when she was selected for the finals at foal show, and as a 2-year-old she was chosen as Filly of the Year in Denmark. One year later she was graded with silver. She was educated to Prix st. George level, before a fall on ice put an end to her sports career.
A career as a broodmare has been just as successful. Her offspring count horses like Gørklintgårds Quater Boy (Nanna Merrald) who competes in intermediare dressage, has won Blue Hors Youngster Cup 2016 and was reserve for the World Breeding Championships in Ermelo. There is also the talented medium level dressage horse Gørklintgårds Flava (Emily Dybdahl Kamstrup) and Gørklintgårds Firefly, who we still have in our barn.
