Montreal is a colt by Métall / Sunny-Boy / Donnerschlag. At the foal show in Danish warmblood's region 4 he was selected for the finals with 2 x 9.0 for trot and canter.

His dam is the DH-graded mare Deedee. She is a daughter of Desire Ra, a hannoveranian mare that Jørgen imported from Germany. Desire Ra is a sister to the Grand Prix mare Doreen Ra (Kristina Winkler) and the licensed stallion Pik-Rally (BADWU) that competes on Intermediaire level.

The damline has also produced the Grand Prix horse Felix (Adrienne Lyle), the Intermediaire I horse Feerique plus a high number of successful sport horses in both dressage and showjumping. Furthermore, the licensed stallions Rajah (CWHBA), Amigo (AU) and Lombard (Hann) and a string of state premium mares - among them Annika, Lagineta, Miss Monty, Domsonne og Wahiia - come from this damline.

Montreals dam is a sister to Gørklintgårds Genua - a mare with B-status in dressage - Gørklintgårds Salgardo, a young gelding that competes in medium level dressage, Lauries Malü, that competes in medium level dressage in Germany and Gørklintgårds Santoro, a young gelding that has qualified for the second round of the Danish Equatrian Society's Young Horse Championship and scored 800 points at Danish Warmblood's young horse test.

Apart from Montreal, Deedee has had four other foals. Unfortunately one of them died as a foal (after having been sold to one of Denmark's top riders) but the other three has been very successful. Among them are Torrero, a stallion that was selected for Danish Warmblood's licensing in 2015, and Jericho, a talented youngster that scored 75 percent at his very first dressage test.
