Seven Grand Prix horses in dressage, 16 young horse championship finalists and 40 foal show finalists.
That is just some of the results achieved by horses from Gørklintgård. Let’s start with the older sport horses and then move downwards in age.

Olympic bronze

By 2018 we have counted a total of seven Grand Prix horses in dressage - Fanero, Latino, Domello, Romaro, Calderon Noir, Quantico and Dublét. The latter and his rider Kasey Perry-Glass were part of the bronze-winning American team at the Rio Olympics. In addition to that there are fifteen Gørklintgård horses on Intermediare/Prix st. George level and 38 competing at medium level dressage.

Furthermore, we have bred a string of talented horses that has never been showed - like Fortuna and Donau, both trained at advanced dressage level - or had their sport carreers before all results became available on the internet.

In show jumping we have three jumper at advanced level - among them Danish show jumping team horse Montana - and eight on a medium level. Furthermore, one horse has Danish A status in eventing.

More than twenty high-performing youngsters

Several of our four-, five- and six-year-old horses compete in Danish youngster cups. Since 2006 we have had sixteen horses qualify for the finale at Danish Equestrian Federation’s youngster cup, as well as ten horses selected for Danish Warmblood’s Young Horse Championship.

In Sweden, two young horses have qualified for the prestigious Falsterbo Horse Show, one of them three years in a row.

Furthermore, two horses have competed at the World Breeding Championships in Ermelo, placing seventh among the seven-year-olds and 14th among the six-year-olds, respectively.

Eight licensed stallions

We usually put a few stallions forward for the pre-selections for Danish Warmblood’s stallion licensing in Herning. A total of fifteen young stallions have made it to the licensing and among them three have been approved for breeding: Liberty Dane in 1994, Figaro in 2001, Santos in 2009 and Shaolin in 2018.

On top of that, Calderon is approved for the Anglo European Studbook in England, Sherlock is approved for Norwegian Warmblood, and Diarano is licensed in Oldenburg Verband in Germany, as is Santos. Furthermore, in 2017 Quinto was approved for Swedish Warmblood.

Mare of the Year

One year later some of the mares are graded. Eight of our mares have returned with a medal – a system equalling the German one of state prized mares – four bronze, three silver and one gold. The latter was also selected as the best mare in Denmark. Furthermore four of our mares have been graded as the winner of their team.

Thirteen fillies in the national finale

We usually show a few of the two-year-old fillies. Since 2001 we have had thirteen fillies qualify for the national finale and thrice – in 2001, 2005 and 2009 – the winner has been a filly from Gørklintgård.

43 foal show finalists

Around the millennium we started participating at foal shows every year. Since 1999 we have had a total of 43 foals selected for the foal show finals.

Especially the foal show in Danish Warmblood’s region 4 in 2003 was an amazing experience. After the finale both the best filly and the best colt was bred at Gørklintgård. Later, at the national finale, the filly won the title of Foal of the Year and the colt placed number three.

In 2016 a Gørklintgård became Dressage Colt of the Year in Danish Warmblood’s region 5.

More than a dozen Elite Mares

Some of the winning mares return to the stud farm to be broodmares and thus help the next generation of Gørklintgård horses on its way. 14 of our homebred mares have been given elite mare status due to the success of their progeny.
